Photo of the week: Angkor Wat
In keeping with my Cambodian theme for the past few posts, I thought I'd share one of my prized souvenirs from the entire trip: the Angkor Wat vista.
Seeing the Angkor Wat is both a dream come true and an affirmation of the power of having a dream.
Nearly a thousand years ago, an Angkorian king dreamt of having a city that could fit thousands. A city that is both palatial home and tributary monument to devotion. His will, and the will of his people, whose desire for greatness and cultural dominance saw the erection of one of mankind's grandest feat. A true wonder of the world and a gift to his people then and for many centuries to come.
